The Land of Gold
The road that travels south from Falstaff to Winterhaven. It was never a major thoroughfare, but there used to be a fair amount of trade between the towns. The road is just a raised, packed path in existence more by centuries of travel than by plan. When it rains the road becomes muddy and difficult, and in places it is very rutted and poorly maintained.
There were several notable landmarks between the two towns, perhaps the most impressive of which was The Watcher, a towering statue of Orgoth make roughly halfway between the towns. It leers down from a hilltop, and local legend says that anyone who lingers too long beneath its gaze will not finish their trip alive. The more likely explanation is that it’s really creepy and people don’t want to have to look at it for very long.
After the fall of Winterhaven this road is seldom used.
